YouTube Shorts Blocker

The Extension is built to be privacy‑respecting. It does not:

• Collect or store your personal information
• Track your browsing history across sites
• Access your YouTube or Google account data
• Collect IP addresses or device identifiers
• Send any data to external servers or third parties
• Use analytics, advertising, or fingerprinting

All logic runs locally in your browser and operates only on the content of YouTube pages you visit.

The Extension analyzes the structure of YouTube pages to detect and hide elements related to Shorts, including:

• Shorts shelves and thumbnails on the homepage
• The Shorts tab in navigation
• Shorts in search results and recommendations
• Shorts on channel pages and in notifications

When you open a Shorts link, the Extension can automatically redirect it to the standard video player format. All of this processing happens entirely on your device and is not logged or transmitted.

The Extension does not:

• Create or read its own tracking cookies
• Use beacons, pixels, or third‑party trackers
• Modify how YouTube uses its own cookies

Any cookies present on YouTube are controlled by YouTube/Google and are subject to their own privacy policy.

The Extension does not integrate with any external analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

The Extension does not:

• Send data to remote APIs or databases
• Share data with advertisers or data brokers
• Embed third‑party scripts for tracking

The Extension is designed to avoid storing personal data.

• No personal or usage data is stored on your device beyond basic extension settings (e.g., whether the Extension is enabled).
• These settings are kept in the browser’s built‑in extension storage and are not shared with anyone.

While no system can be perfectly secure, the Extension minimizes risk by limiting the amount of data it handles.

The Extension can be used by people of any age, including children, but it does not collect, store, or share any personal information about its users.

Parents and guardians should review YouTube’s own settings and policies to manage content and screen time appropriately.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, for example if new features are added or if browser policies change.

When the policy is updated, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of the Extension after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
